Abstract
The main socio-economic tendencies of farm management in the Romanian agriculture in recent years reveal structural changes that will impact the future agrarian structure of Romania. In the latest years, Romania experienced the following trends: acceleration of the transfer of land resource operation to younger managers (under 45 year old); contraction of livestock herds; diminution of the consumption of labour force in the Romanian agriculture; increased productivity of labour involved in agricultural activities. The way in which these tendencies are distributed in the socio-economic structures of farm managers in Romania, as well as their implications upon the managerial performance are the object of the following discussion.
