TRANSITION POSSIBILITIES OF DUMBRAVIȚA LOCATION IN TIMIȘ COUNTY TOWARDS SMART VILLAGE
Abstract
The article presents the identification of the potential and possibilities for the transition to a smart village of the Dumbrăvița commune in Timiș county, by using all existing digital solutions and technologies. Digital evolution is one of the most important elements for the sustainable development of rural areas, contributing to the modernization of infrastructure, increasing the quality of life of citizens and reducing the differences between urban and rural areas.
The study highlights the main aspects of Dumbrăvița commune, Timiș county that contribute decisively to the transition process towards smart villages, one of the most important being its location in a region with significant potential, near the city of Timișoara.
Regarding existing and currently implemented digital solutions, they have been and will be integrated in both the private and administrative environments, with the aim of defining a plan that will support the economic, social and sustainable development of the community.
The research includes detailed case studies, which use data and information from public institutions and beyond, to assess the sustainable development opportunities of Dumbrăvița commune.
The transition to smart village represents an opportunity to redefine rural life, creating communities that combine tradition and innovation, and Dumbrăvița, by implementing all the proposed projects and transitioning to smart village, can become a source of inspiration for other communes in Romania.
