REGIONAL ASSESSMENT OF TOURIST RESOURCES AND AGRITOURISM POTENTIAL IN HUNEDOARA COUNTY

Abstract


Hunedoara County holds a complex touristic potential, resulting from the combination of diverse natural resources with valuable cultural and historical heritage. The paper analyses the main tourist resources of the county and its potential for rural and agritourism development in the context of post-industrial economic restructuring. The methodology includes the documentary analysis of regional strategies, interpretation of statistical data, and a SWOT analysis of existing resources. The results highlight that areas such as Țara Hațegului, Ținutul Pădurenilor, Valea Jiului, Valea Mureșului, and Țara Zarandului can become nuclei of sustainable development through rural tourism, valorizing traditions, gastronomy, and local heritage.
