STUDY REGARDING CONSUMPTION PREFERENCES FOR WINE PRODUCED IN THE RECAȘ WINEMAKING REGION
Abstract
Wine is an alcoholic beverage obtained from grapes or other fruits, through the process of fermentation. Some health benefits associated with moderate consumption of wine include a decreased risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. The present study aims to examine consumer preferences for wine and especially for wine produced in the Recaș winemaking region of Romania. The Recaș Wineries produce red, white and rosé wines, with different subtypes and brand names used. The variables studied include an overall assessment of consumption habits for wine and alcholic drinks of the survey respondents, preferences for different types of wine produced in Recaș, appreciation of wine tasting descriptors and the brand awareness of the Recaș Wineries.
