STUDY REGARDING THE TYPES OF TOURISM IN HUNEDOARA COUNTY - PRIORITIES AND DEVELOPMENT MEASURES

Maria Balint

Abstract

Hunedoara County stands out for its varied tourist offer, where history and nature harmoniously intertwine: Corvin Castle, the UNESCO Dacian fortresses, the Roman ruins at Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa and the Retezat National Park, with its glacial lakes and spectacular biodiversity, attract tourists passionate about culture and adventure every year. Traditional villages keep alive local customs, crafts and gastronomy, offering authentic experiences to those who want to discover the charm of the countryside. Looking to the future, Hunedoara aims to capitalize on this potential through investments in infrastructure, the development of ecotourism, the support of agritourism and digital promotion, transforming itself into a competitive, modern and sustainable destination, with direct benefits for local communities.
