SAFFRON CULTURE- A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS IN BIHOR COUNTY

Abstract


For farmers who has agriculture land of small sizes, of one hectare, two or three are few possibilities to obtain profits. The most profitable crops are: hazelnut, raspberry, kale, hot pepper, lavender, asparagus, sea buckthorn and of course saffron  In Romania there are few producers.  The plant acclimatized on a sandier soil but also more clayey, but well drained.  This plant doesn’t like excess moisture.   The main purpose of this paper is to present the realistic business plan of a company that deals with the production and marketing of this spice.  The main impediment in the cultivation of this plant is manual labor, mainly when harvesting pistils and a lot of patience in the marketing process;
